On February 18, the first distribution of solar kits comprising solar panels, lamps, phone chargers and radio connectors took place, reaching 3,200 families living in a tented camp on the campus of the National Adventist University in Port-au-Prince. Read more here.

From Beverly: A Heartfelt Thank You

When tragedy strikes, as it has done in Haiti so recently, as it seems to be doing with alarming frequency around the world, my faith in life is challenged. Not so easy, those early days of helplessness, to believe that anything could restore it. But then, you stood with me and I with you. I have been restored by the faith that you, individually and as a community of heart, have demonstrated by your response to the overwhelming need in that poorest of nations. Your support of the Haiti Relief Fund at Blessings has resulted in an amazing, truly amazing $6016 in donations. We sent a total of $12,500 to Geneva Global where they have redoubled. You have helped generate $25,000 toward restoring the lives of our wounded family in Haiti! My prayer is that it will also help restore their faith in living, as it has mine.

Geneva Global’s The Haiti Earthquake Recovery Fund is already making a difference on the ground in Haiti.

Working with existing Haitian non-profit partners, the Fund is complementing international relief efforts, providing immediate emergency relief and solar panels to power lights, cell phones and radios, increase safety and allow for critical communications.

Donors worldwide so far have committed more than $150,000. Contributions have come from as far away as Dubai and Hampshire, England, as well as throughout the US.
